Interacting with Other Players
Please keep the most basic goal of the game in mind: Everyone should have fun.

Being mindful of the "fun for everyone" goal could be as subtle as making sure that the other players have a chance to speak, or as obvious as not having your character seek out to murder the other players' characters.

Unless, of course, some player explicitly states that he or she is cool with such treatment. But only then.
Interacting with the DM
No rules-mongering

I will deviate from the official rules.
At times I'll even deviate from myself.
And I will make mistakes.

If you feel that it's important, it's ok to remind me of an official rule. If so, I will then make a decision one way or the other and the game will continue. If you still disagree, please wait until the session is over and then we can continue the conversation.

A reason why I might "wing" the rules is because I feel that one of the most important qualities of an enjoyable game is pacing. Any time I spend with my nose in a rule book or debating with someone is time where the players simply are not playing. That's not good.

(I'm not quite there yet, I'll still catch myself wondering about a rule rather than just making it up and moving on. It's something I'm working on.)
