One can tell moths and butterflies apart from their antennae. Unfortunately that's hard to do with this photo.
Also, the grass hoppers in Durkee look like butterflies when they fly. The flash of of color and design under their wings is a quick surprise, as their camouflage is quite drab when standing on the ground.

Back at the caves, a ranger and I sat down to talk at length about bugs. It's very rare & exciting for a bug-person to find another bug-person.
